Starting July 19, Muslims will celebrate a major holiday, Eid il Adha, to remember God’s provision of a mighty sacrifice, so Abraham would not have to sacrifice his son (Genesis 22:1-18). Christians see God’s provision of Jesus Christ foreshadowed in this act, so the story and holiday are wonderful bridges to share the perfect sacrifice God provided to save us from sin and shame.
Here are two ways you can use this opportunity:
Show and/or share the Abraham clip from the JESUS Film Project. The clip is available in 397 languages and can be viewed online via this website or the JESUS Film App (where you can also download the clip for offline use). You can share a link to the video in a particular language with friends and contacts via text, WhatsApp, Facebook, etc. using the sharing function of the app or share a link via e-mail or Facebook using “Share” on the website.
If the Abraham clip isn’t available in the language your friends and contacts speak, consider making a simple “slideshow video” of the same content. Below, you will find a video that gives you step-by-step instructions on how you can create such a video with your phone:
Video Slideshow Creation Using Scoompa on Android
Once you’ve made the video, share it with your Muslim contacts and friends as you wish them well on their holiday.
And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. (Colossians 4:3-5)
Thank you for the post. I am inspired.
I am grateful for the effort in bringing to bear step by step ways in getting the gospel across by our phone especially the lesson on the slide show(scoompa). God bless u
