The Champions Initiative is our collaborative effort to multiply mobile ministry strategists who will help foster disciple-making movements around the world
We are looking for thirty “champions.” A champion is someone who will effectively apply mobile ministry strategy into their kingdom context.
So can you be a champion? If the following are true of you, the answer is yes!!
- You are passionate about making disciples…especially among the unreached.
- You have a vision for reaching and discipling people through their mobile phone.
- You are a self-starter, motivated to learn and innovate.
- You value partnership and training others.
- You are willing to guide at least one other person into becoming a mobile ministry champion using the Foundations lessons of the Media, Mobiles and Ministry curriculum
- Having Zoom-capable bandwidth goes a long way!
Our Coaches
Now you know who a champion is – but who is a coach? A coach is an experienced champion from the MMF network who has a heart to pass along his or her knowledge and passion of mobile ministry to the next generation of mobile ministry practitioners so disciples are made. Most of our coaches are members of the MMF steering team.
The Coach – Champion Partnership
The coaching relationship includes clear objectives and time commitments. Here the desired outcomes for you as a result of this partnership.
- You will demonstrate understanding of the Learning Objectives from each of the Foundations section of the Media, Mobiles & Ministry curriculum. This may involve planning, research, testing, implementation and evaluation of a relevant mobile strategy using the MMF methodology and resources (Champion Toolkit).
- Initiate the creation and adoption of a mobile ministry strategy with someone in their ministry team or community of practice.
- Develop a plan for ongoing mobile strategy in their ministry context.
Program Outline
- Three to nine month commitment depending on the type of project and agreed upon availabilities.
- 30-60 minute meetings with your coach every 1-2 weeks.
- Assessment and consultation on your ministry goals.
- Project timeline of assignments and tasks to aid you toward your final goal.
- Regular evaluations to document progress and improve coaching.
- Final evaluation to ensure objectives were met, goals accomplished and the program is improved.

Once you understand the commitment, we invite you to submit an application below. If you are a good candidate for coaching, an coach will be assigned to you based on time zones, mutual interests, and availability. Your coach will set up a meeting to get to know you and discuss how to begin the coaching program.
Every coach is different, and each one will have a different approach to how they lead you towards the core objectives. However, it is possible that the regular meetings you will have will look something like this:
- Connect – Pray, personal updates
- Expectations – Learner sets tone for their needs, Coach sets expectations
- Next Steps – progress since last call.
- Issues – Things encountered that kept progress from happening
- Advice / Training – shares experience, knowledge or skill to benefit champion’s next steps.
- Actions – Plan next week actions.
- Review – Summary of meeting and email recap.
Implementing a Mobile Ministry Strategy
As you work through the coaching curriculum, your coach may encourage you to implement appropriate ministry activities such as:
- Research a target ministry location media environment for the best way to engage with desired audiences.
- Begin a microSD Card ministry
- Take an Mission Media U training (if suited to your ministry objectives.)
- Begin a social media engagement strategy.
- Set up a mobile training.
- Create mobile content
- Share the Jesus Film and follow up.
- Develop an appropriate media distribution strategy.
