In July 2012 a group of believers traveled to Athens to help these refugees in word and deed. They worked together with local churches, distributing food and hygiene kits along with Christian literature and Bibles in different languages, as well as 2GB micro-SD cards for mobile phones. These SD cards contained the Jesus film in six languages, an audio Bible and songs, as well as stories from people sharing how they met Jesus in a culturally relevant manner. Many refugees have mobile phones. This means they use headphones: suddenly they don’t have to worry about being seen by their countrymen to be reading a Bible. The mobile phone also continues with the refugees on their journey toward central Europe.
